2NE1(females BIG BANG)
2NE1, a much anticipated girl idol group, has released its music for the first time on Friday. Even before their debut, the quartet received wide media attention as the “female Big Bang.” 2NE1 is represented by YG Entertainment, which also manages Big Bang.
“Lollipop,” their collaboration with Big Bang, has swept the domestic online music sites for the past four weeks. Now the girls’ official debut song, “Fire,” was unveiled on their official homepage, causing quite a stir among music fans. Unlike other songs released by Korean female groups, “Fire” delivers quite a strong impact as the name indicates. Composed by Teddy, former member of hip hop group 1TYM, “Fire” has fast hip hop beat with a reggae feel. The song will be released in 10-second phases from May 1st through 6th. Also scheduled for May 6th is the simultaneous showing of the song’s music video, which comes out in two versions.

Where Is Ki-beom in Super Junior?
One of Korea’s hottest idol group, Super Junior, released its third regular album in March and is currently sweeping the music charts with its title song, “Sorry, Sorry.” However, one member of the band is prominently absent from all the performances so far, although Super Junior’s latest album claims to have all thirteen members involved. The 13-member group has been working in sub-groups in recent years.
An official with Super Junior’s agency flatly denied that Ki-beom is out of the team and currently staying with his parents in America. The inside source said that Ki-beom is preparing for his acting debut in Korea and reiterated that he’s an important part of Super Junior. The reason Ki-beom is absent from live performances is because he wants to concentrate on his new acting career and show how sincere he is to succeed as an actor.

Lee Jun-ki Plans a U.S. Tour
Actor Lee Jun-ki plans to go on a U.S. tour in the latter half of this year, following the ones in China, Thailand, Japan, and Hong Kong. Lee’s agency says that a detailed schedule is being worked out now and it’s coordinating the event so that his overseas activities wouldn’t be in conflict with his domestic ones.
Known for his amazing acting performance in the film “King and the Clown” and dramas “My Girl” and “Iljimae,” Lee has his own fan clubs in China, Thailand, Indonesia, and other countries. When he was in Indonesia for some volunteer work recently, the international airport there was paralyzed with Lee’s screaming fans. His immense popularity overseas has motivated his agency to host a world tour
